Sara Delheimer
Name: Sara Delheimer
Role in BWC: Tapas chef, game night hustla, being rad and keepin it real.
Bike: Specialized Sirrus Elite
Favorite biking memory: Wanted to ride up Vail Pass while I was in Vail last October, but kept putting it off. Morning of my last day in town, I rode lazily through town to the trail, trying to make up for no sleep and a hangover with a quick Mexican mocha, which didn’t really work, but was definitely delicious. Some guy camped out in his car at the trailhead offered me words of encouragement and a PBR, which was definitely not delicious, but really did work like a charm clearing my head and fueling the climb. Definitely no KOM award for that performance, but it was one of the most feel-good rides I’ve done. Trail all to myself, taking in the sun-kissed scenery and singing along out loud to an old-school UGK album. That’s my favorite thing about biking: the blues and bad feelings melt away mile after mile.
It’s a sunny Saturday in Colorado, what are you doing? Waking up early, eating breakfast on the back deck, heading into the mountains for some kind of adventure, or picnicking in the park with a good book.
Favorite post ride meal: A burger and a beer.
You have a plane ticket to anywhere in the world. Where are you going? Hard to choose between Chile, Indonesia, Namibia, and the Balkans.
Pick your poison- beer, wine, liquor or other: All of the above.
When you grow up you want to be: Doing pretty much what I’m doing now, just doing it a little better and bigger.
Goal for 2015: Stop complaining about being a bike newbie and just do some damn rides; ride a century; make it out on at least one bike camping trip every month this summer.
